Project Description
The sulfuric acid production unit produces sulfuric acid from sulfur using the contact process. In this process, sulfur is first converted to sulfur dioxide gas. Then, sulfur dioxide gas is contacted with water to produce sulfuric acid.
The sulfur recovery unit also uses the exhaust gases from the sulfuric acid production unit to produce solid sulfur.
The design and construction of the Selsefghan sulfuric acid plant was carried out by domestic engineering companies. The project is currently in the implementation phase and is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.
The Selsefghan sulfuric acid plant design and construction project is considered one of the country's important and strategic projects. This project will play an important role in the development of various industries in the country by meeting the domestic demand for sulfuric acid and reducing dependence on imports.
